Catholic Christian liturgy for this Sunday, 05.02.2017:

1a. READING - Isa 58: 7-10. "Deliver the bread to the hungry, welcome the poor and the pilgrims home."

2a. READING - 1Cor. 2.1-5. Let your faith be based on the power of God and not on human wisdom.

PSALM 112/111 - "Blessed is the caring and presumptive man, who resolves his affairs with justice.

MT. 5, 13-16: Jesus said to his disciples, "You are the SALT of the earth, and if the salt is to be broken, what shall we salt it with?" Thrown away and being trampled by men."No one can light a lamp and put it under his vessel, but a lamp, where it shines for all who are in the house.

"Let your light also shine before men, that they may see your good works and praise your Father which is in heaven."  (1)

 A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION: Beautiful texts that compose the liturgy of this fifth Sunday, of Common Time. Isaiah the great Prophet of the Old Testament calls us to practice CHARITY, giving food to those who are hungry and welcoming, at home, the poor pilgrims. The central emphasis of all texts is in the face of the great Christian motivation, that is, the PRACTICE OF CHARITY.

Jesus, as always the greatest teacher the world has ever known, uses a wonderful parable to explain to his disciples (and all of us Christians in the world today) that our Light has to shine wherever we go.

That we are the SAL of the world, that is, that which gives flavor to food, so also Christians SHOULD GIVE TASTE to everything they do. Wherever a Christian goes, he MUST leave traces of love, affection, affection, friendship, charity and solidarity.

"THE LIGHT SHINES WHEN THE CHRISTIAN BREAKS OUT THE BREAD WITH THE FAMINTO, WAKE UP THE POOR AND THE PILGRIM, AND COVER OF MERCY THAT IS ABANDONED. WHAT IS YOUR DECISION?"

POINTS TO REFLECT:01. A very concrete point in today's world: the situation of IMMIGRANTS. As our country, are you treating immigrants (they are human beings, children of God), hungry, thirsty for a job and for a DIGNA life? (Congratulations to the Prime Minister of Germany, Ms. Angela Merkel, for the courageous and humane attitude in WELCOME the immigrants, especially the Syrians fleeing the war in their country.

02. Contrary to the attitude of the former President of the United States, who wants to ban immigrants from his country !!! (How should American Christians AGREE about this situation in their Country?

03. Or do we take up our Discipleship of Jesus, with nails and teeth, or are we no more than Pharisees Hypocrites, from the time of the Master!Heavenly Father, in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and through the ever-present intercession of his Most Holy Mother Mary, let all your family descend upon you, the Blessing of God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, amen!Grace and Peace in your hearts! Shalom!
