CORPUS CHRISTI, SHARING THE PARTY

Antoni BigCuore Casagrande*

We Catholics Christians, within the liturgical calendar, celebrate today the feast of "Corpus Christi," the body of God. It is the feast of the Institution of the Holy Eucharist, instituted by Jesus himself at the Last Supper.

In Genesis 14 - 18-20, we read: "In those days, Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine, as a priest of God Most High, he blessed Abram, saying," Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and the earth! Blessed be God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hands! "And Abram gave him a tenth of everything."Jesus said, I "am the living bread come down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. "

For us Catholic Christians, the Eucharist we celebrate almost every day of the week through the masses, is the body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ! The host when unconsecrated is just flour. But when consecrated by a priest ordained, faithfully prepared for it, turns in Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

This is a mystery of faith !.The Eucharist was foreshadowed in various biblical passages. One of the most notable is the above reported in Genesis, 14, 18-20. In Luke 9, 11-17, the disciples worried about feeding 5,000 people and Jesus with only five loaves and two fish, fed them and even twelve baskets left over.It is the body of God, the only food that truly satisfies the human hunger for love and dignity! The Eucharist is the true thanksgiving, as the Greek origin of the word. We thank God for the gift of our lives and all that He created. It is the synthesis and the apex of Christianity Christian Catholic !.

In Luke's Gospel, 22 19-20, says the Master, "19And he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and handed it to them, saying. "THIS IS MY BODY WHICH IS GIVEN FOR YOU. THIS IN MY MEMORY do. " 20E, after eating, did the same with the cup, saying, ". This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you" (cf. Jerusalem Bible, pg 1971, Paulus Publisher.). (my italics).

Notice that Jesus does not say, that this was or will be, he says, "THIS IS", verb to be, the third person present indicative. This is to make it clear that God is always PRESENT !. He has no past and no future, he simply "IS"! He is God with us, or walks US forever. Never abandons us! Trust because these words of Luke 22.

When we share God's body, in the celebrations of Holy Mass each day, we are communing love, anointing of God in us, the strength, energy, peace, everything that comes from God. And after we left the temple, we have a moral obligation to share with the brothers, love, solidarity, affection, education, friendship, everything that it stands for Christians. This is it !. Happy celebration of the Day of Corpus Christi !!! The peace of the Lord Jesus, always dwells in their hearts !.

DAY OF PRAYER: "Lord Jesus Christ in this wonderful sacrament in forsaken the memorial of your passion. Give us venerate with such love the mystery of your body and your Blood, we can continuously reap the fruits of your redemption. You who are God the Father, in Unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen. " (Liturgy Daily Paulus, pg.22 month in June / 2010.
