In the Gospel of Mark, chapter 16, 1, says: "When the Sabbath came, MARY MAGDALENE, MARY MOTHER OF JAMES AND SALOME, bought spices to anoint the body of Jesus." (2) (emphasis added)

A.BIGCUORE COMMENT: - The Cross of Christ is truly a paradox. By the logic of the world, that moment of crucifixion, Jesus was a failure, for death on the cross, was constituted in the vilest way that a human being could be killed.
What strikes us is that Jesus was always surrounded by his women disciples. At the foot of the cross, were Mary, his Mother, Mary of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. By visiting the tomb also 3 women were present: Mary Magdalene, Mary the Mother of James and Salome. I imagine that the Master had special attention to them, considering that, especially at that time, women were discriminated against by the super macho Jewish society.
The number three was not by chance not. He, in the Bible, is a number symbolic meaning for us Catholic Christians, the Creator Father, the Son Jesus Christ the Word (Word) and Holy Spirit Paraclete, promised his disciples by Jesus himself, at the end of its mission.The angel of the Lord calls to announce such a feat to the other disciples of Jesus. Nevertheless they were very afraid, they ran to announce the fact to the disciples, as the angel recommended them.
The verse to verse 9 "Suddenly Jesus met them and said," Rejoice. " The women approached and knelt before Jesus, embracing his feet. And urged to warn their "brothers" to make inquiries into Galilee, where they could see Jesus.Paul, the great Apostle of Jesus says that He is not risen, your faith is vain!. In fact, Jesus would have been a no, if everything had finished the damn wood!. But where Jesus reveals himself FULLY, is in his resurrection that He conquers death and wins the cross itself. CHRIST IS RISEN, HALLELUJAH!! HE WON AND WINS THE DEATH!He is Emanoel, GOD WITH U.S.! God, since the ancient prophets, is a God who walks with the people. He never abandons his people!
God is faithful!. He is infinitely merciful, always willing to forgive us and give himself for us. Alias is the Holy Eucharist every day, in the tabernacles of the world, he immolates himself and gives himself (albeit not bloody), a sacrifice of praise for our salvation.
